Using Helpful Sets to Improve Graph

چکیده
We describe a new, linear time heuristic for the improvement of graph bisections. The method is a variant of local search with sophisticated neighborhood relations. It is based on graph-theoretic observations that were used to nd upper bounds for the bisection width of regular graphs. EEciently implemented, the new method can serve as an alternative to the commonly used local heuristics, not only in terms of the quality of attained solutions, but also in terms of space and time requirements. We compare our heuristic with a number of well known bisection algorithms. Extensive measurements show that the new method is a real improvement for graphs of certain types.

Optimal Self-healing of Smart Distribution Grids Based on Spanning Trees to Improve System Reliability
In this paper, a self-healing approach for smart distribution network is presented based on Graph theory and cut sets. In the proposed Graph theory based approach, the upstream grid and all the existing microgrids are modeled as a common node after fault occurrence. Thereafter, the maneuvering lines which are in the cut sets are selected as the recovery path for alternatives networks by making ...

Let $G=(V,E)$ be a simple graph. A set $Ssubseteq V$ isindependent set of $G$, if no two vertices of $S$ are adjacent. The independence number $alpha(G)$ is the size of a maximumindependent set in the graph. In this paper we study and characterize the independent sets ofthe zero-divisor graph $Gamma(R)$ and ideal-based zero-divisor graph $Gamma_I(R)$of a commutative ring $R$.
متن کاملParallel Jobs Scheduling with a Specific Due Date: Asemi-definite Relaxation-based Algorithm
This paper considers a different version of the parallel machines scheduling problem in which the parallel jobs simultaneously requirea pre-specifiedjob-dependent number of machines when being processed. This relaxation departs from one of the classic scheduling assumptions. While the analytical conditions can be easily statedfor some simple models, a graph model approach is required when confli...
متن کاملMAXIMAL INDEPENDENT SETS FOR THE PIXEL EXPANSION OF GRAPH ACCESS STRUCTURE
Given a graph G, a visual cryptography scheme based on the graph G is a method to distribute a secret image among the vertices of G, the participants, so that a subset of participants can recover the secret image if they contain an edge of G, by stacking their shares, otherwise they can obtain no information regarding the secret image. In this paper we apply maximal independent sets of the grap...
متن کاملDifferent-Distance Sets in a Graph
A set of vertices $S$ in a connected graph $G$ is a different-distance set if, for any vertex $w$ outside $S$, no two vertices in $S$ have the same distance to $w$.The lower and upper different-distance number of a graph are the order of a smallest, respectively largest, maximal different-distance set.We prove that a different-distance set induces either a special type of path or an independent...

In this paper a maximal independent sets of the graph G was ...
